Hildenborough Parish Council currently have two vacancies.
A resignation by Cllr Mandy Pereira.
Local Plan Update from TMBC 17th March 2026
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council has published its response to the Regulation 18 Local Plan consultation, which ran from 10 November 2025 to 2 January 2026.
The report also includes updates on transport work and the financial implications linked to the Local Plan.
We encourage all residents to take a moment to read the response and stay informed about how future development may affect our community.
West Wood Ash Dieback Works Newsletter March 2026
Hildenborough Parish Council will soon begin essential works in West Wood to tackle widespread ash dieback. Please see the attached newsletter for details
The Leigh Expansion and Hildenborough Embankment Scheme Winter 2026
In summary, the team has continued to make good progress over the autumn and winter period, despite the challenging weather conditions. The final new gate has been installed at the Leigh control structure, and the team are busy connecting it up to the electrical systems. At Hildenborough, the team has finished installing the trash screen, handrails, pumps and platforms. They’ve also carried out an initial test of the system.

Kent County Council Consultation Document for Public Rights of Way Section 53
Kent County Council is asking for residents’ views on a proposed change to how Section 53 Public Rights of Way applications are prioritised. The rise in applications in recent years has created a growing backlog, and KCC is proposing to prioritise user-based applications (those showing 20+ years of use) alongside historic evidence applications

Annual Parish Meeting – Thursday 12th March
Hildenborough Parish Council Invites Residents to Annual Parish Meeting
Hildenborough Parish Council is inviting local residents to join them for this year’s Annual Parish Meeting, an opportunity for the community to come together and hear updates on the Council’s work over the past year.
Councillors will be on hand to share progress on key projects and answer questions from residents. A number of local clubs, groups, and associations will also be present to showcase the vital work they do within the village.
The event offers a great chance to discover new activities, meet community representatives, and sign up to local groups making a difference in Hildenborough

We’re Hiring – Admin Support (15 hours per week)
Hildenborough Parish Council is looking for a forward‑thinking, proactive individual to support the work of the Council and engage positively with our local community.
We’re seeking someone who can demonstrate:
• Relevant experience and a track record of achievement
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A motivated, community‑focused approach
The role is 15 hours per week, and the successful candidate must be able to attend evening meetings, meet contractors within Hildenborough and work primarily from home.
Local knowledge and living within or near the village would be an advantage.
Some understanding of Local Council administration is helpful, but not essential.

Christmas Contact numbers for the Hildenborough Embankment Scheme
Hildenborough embankment scheme
The new embankment has now been fully constructed and shaped, and we have finished pouring the concrete for the penstock and the base for the pumping system and associated infrastructure. The operating kiosk has been installed and fitted out to accommodate the electrical control systems that will manage the pumps and site operations. Having successfully passed factory testing, the new pumps have been installed on site and will be electrically connected and tested in-situ in the New Year.
Christmas working arrangements
Like last year, the construction works will close for the Christmas period. Our last on-site working day will be Friday 19 December, and we will resume site works again on site on Monday 5 January 2026.
